Re: The bodgy, dodgy, CDi-HDMI hack.

I used an up-scaler in this modification, It works but it works weird. Like, the picture is different than normal video, in that it is a little more harsh, almost like the line tripler is trying too hard to clean up the video. It is tolerable but it is still, well kinda crappy. And you can only upsc...

Re: The bodgy, dodgy, CDi-HDMI hack.

Not really, the circuit is designed to take RCA in and put it to HDMI out, so whatever the machine was giving for RCA is the same. There is some brightness loss and a bit higher contrast with the HDMI output of the machine, and less noise, but that's only because of the HDMI upscaler's built-in filt...

Re: CDI-910 Power Supply Question

This is actually before any modifications other than the save chip battery added. I think that mosfet is running a little hot, but not way out of scope. I may put a fan in the unit and redo the heatsync compound on the mosfet, or even put a set of cooling fins on there as well, instead of that flims...

The bodgy, dodgy, CDi-HDMI hack.

I updated the CDi-910 I bought for 10$USD I will eventually make this prettier, use the ole' Form2 3d printer and print out proper mounts, cases and port covers. But for now my CDi-910 now has an HDMI jack... And here's how I did it in pictures. 1.jpg 20180216_165608.jpg 20180216_131137.jpg I will p...

I scratched Laser Lords~ OMG I NEED A NEW COPY

I need a new copy of Laser Lords, (English version) I scratched it now I can't beam down to Argos... It says "The void has been contaminated, please clean your disc" lol And I can't beam down because the scratch is in the foil. What's worse is, I haven't beaten the game, and am super into it! I keep...

CDI-910 Power Supply Question

Is 220-230 degrees Fahrenheit too hot for the mosfet to run in the CDI-910? Also, I am installing an HDMI conversion board, after I clean up some circuitry inside, and mount the battery housing to the memory so it is not loose in here like it is now. My clock IC snapped in half, the crystal and batt...

Modifyed dead controllers for use on PC, Need housings.

Dose anyone have dead CDI contollers (910 style original) I want to try to build a board for them, my idea is to use the logic from a programable 6 button USB controller and a dead CDI controller to make USB controllers for people who need them for use with emulators and so on, they will be recasts ...

CDI 910 w/DVC Lost in fire, now what?

My uncle bought the Philips CDI 910 back when it first came out in the USA, it was roughly 800$, I asked him if I could have it one day since he now no longer uses it, it had the DVC installed and tons of games, he said YES. I was so excited, but I got a call later that day that his kitchen caught f...
