OK, thanks for the info!Bas wrote:Hi,
The portable models never were widely available in consumer shops, but rather promoted at business models (at least that's how I experienced it in The Netherlands). As far as I know the 370 was for sale here, but only via business channels.

Was the CD-i 370 only released in Europe?...
I would love to get a CD-i 370, but the only eBay auction that I have seen with one was in the UK. Was the model 370 only released in Europe? I think that CD-i s are cheaper and more common in Europe then here in the United States, due to the fact that Philips is a Dutch company. But I could be wrong.

Question about the Philips Peacekeeper light gun...
Does the Peacekeeper gun require any kind of IR receiver, like the ones in this ebay auction?: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Philips-CD-i-IR-Set-Reciever-Remote-Model-22ER9054-New-CIB-/261458754659?pt=US_Video_Game_Controllers&hash=item3ce027fc63 My concern is that, if it does, that would make playing lig...

Is the CD-i touchpad controller good, or bad?...
The one that comes with the little joystick in the center. I ask, because here in the USA, the 3-button CD-i controller, that looks like a Genesis/Mega Drive controller, is incredibly expensive.

What is a reasonable price (in US Dollars) for a CD-i??
I'm talking about a complete CD-i console, with memory, and the digital video cartridge. I found this on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PHILIPS-CD-I-CDI-200-VIDEO-GAME-SYSTEM-CONSOLE-WIRELESS-REMOTE-CONTROL-DISCS-/110950927864?pt=Video_Games&hash=item19d530cdf8 As you can see, the seller is Top Rated...

It would have been interesting to see what EA could/would have done w/CD-i technology. Their releases rocked on 3DO! I agree! As enthusiastic as the EA guy sounded in that video, I wonder what the heck happened? Did Phillips and EA just not play well together, or did Phillips not send out enough de...

Really interesting old video with Electronic Arts and CD-i..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLN3XY5CJjE Before watching this video, I didn't know that CD-i technology was even being discussed in the late 1980's. I don't think that Electronic Arts ever developed any games for the Philips CD-i.

Haven't played it yet, but here is a great review from Bas ... http://cdii.blogspot.com/2007/01/inca-cd-i-review.html The "Back to the Future" idea was also used in another Coktel Vision game, Lost in Time. Thanks for the link! It certainly looks beautiful, IMO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRWYP...

How well does Creature Shock control on the CD-i?...
I'm sure it depends on which CD-i controller you're using, but I'm curious because I own a 3DO, and was told that the 3DO port does not control well at all.

agreed the best CD-i controller I've used is the Gamester GT-i. Also the name makes it sound like a sports car. but what's even better is the controller converter, you can use any controller with the standard Sega/Atari plugs. both aren't that easy to find though OK, great! Nice Youtube channel, BT...

If you can find a Sony mouse (which came with the Sony portable) I found they are the best for cd-i. I didn't get on with the trackerball to be honest, nor the joystick. The later version remote works very very well :) OK, thanks! What year did this later version remote come out, and how do you rec...
