Re: Forum Open

Just checking in, I'm still alive! My CD-i stuff is a bit dusty, however recently in a weak moment I purchased the first new CD-i item in years...

Re: Is anyone still around

There are still a few people around :) . Just checked, Zelda's adventure is selling for $400 on eBay so there must be more people still collecting CD-i :) .

Re: CD-i Demo Unit

It's selling for 25 euro, without monitor or player. Looks like it would fit into my car, but then where to store it? :)

Re: Question about the Philips Peacekeeper light gun...

No, you don't need the 22ER9054 IR-set for the peacekeeper. The peacekeeper lightgun comes complete with a IR-emitter, the sensor is in the gun IIRC.

Re: Burning Video Cd's to work with the CD-i

This happens when the CD-i application is not included on the Video-CD. At least it used to be, I haven't burned a video-CD in ages :) . I also wouldn't know which recent cd-burning programs support this. Maybe you could copy the CD-i program from an existing video-cd, although I doubt that would wo...

Seeing this disc I would guess it contains the entire line of magnavox consumer electronics with instructions on how to sell them and specifications. I have a similar product from Philips and Magnavox was the Philips name for America.

Is this from a special disc or the standard BOSE disc? I think I remember seeing some BOSE demonstration CD-i.

No, that would not be the case. You'd have to do some soldering and most likely replace a crystal. Now for someone to open up his cd-i player and make a picture of the board inside.

Well, if that didn't work there's always another way. IIRC the CD-i will output it's video in a RGB format which is then converted to PAL or NTSC via another chip. This chip can be switched to NTSC mode with some soldering. I think I did this once a long time ago, but I'm not sure anymore which mode...

Well, I tried opening a remote control but that didn't work. The mouse is easier to dissassemble. Inside is a PCB with one chip Mitsumi MP01 A01 8919 U2T And the board is marked TDK-T12V which brings us to http://home.arcor.de/system-ninety-nine-user-group/evpc/maus.pdf " Falls jemand eine original ...

Look what I found in the CDI180 box:

So I can help you with a remote and a serial port. Unfortunately I've only got one mouse but there's a thumbstick on the remote that's also usable as a pointing device.

I think I only have one mouse and remote control, but I do have an extra serial port for the cdi180. IIRC the serial port is just a connector on a PCB which plugs into the machine, no logic. I also have the third authoring module.

FS. Philips CDF100 Photo-CD player

Not exactly a CD-i player, but closely related: portable Philips CDF 100 photo-CD player Including box, power adapter, cables, remote control, manual and demonstration photo-cd. Box shows wear from storage, the rest of the stuff is in very good condition. For more information: http://www.icdia.co.uk...
