Thanks for the encouragement!

The ultimate goal is of course "all ROMs, all ISOs and straight from CD-ROM", but it's a bit early yet...

PS. I'm currently on vacation and using a cybercafe; don't expect prompt replies :-)

CD+G and PhotoCD (and in the future, VideoCD) are definitely on my list of "things that ought to work". As said above, these are really just specific CD-i applications and should therefore not be very hard (for CD+G you'd need ROM support of course, not all player models have it)... Regarding the op...

All player ROMs I've seen so far will indeed autoformat the contents of the NVRAM (at least under emulation...).

I'm leaving for Italy soon.

We've planned to put our tent on a camping near Rome, but who know's where we'll end up... My wife is Italian and she knows the area!

CD-i Emulator Coming soon

The following text is from the CD-i Emulator Coming soon website: The CD-i Emulator program provides a fairly complete emulation of the hardware of a CD-i player. The program is currently in a controlled beta test and will be available for Windows starting September 2005. A limited edition will be a...

CD-i Emulator

In past years, several CD-i emulators have been announced. One of them showed promise but none ever arrived at a full release. It is therefore with some pride that I can now reveal my aptly-named CD-i Emulator program. The emulator is currently in controlled beta test in cooperation with the people ...

You could also use "cdilink -dir /nvr" to see if there are any hidden files in the NVRAM and remove them with "cdilink -del /nvr/filename". But you need a nullmodem cable then, of course. You could also write a small machine-language program to zap the memory at 320000 to 327FFF, that's where the NV...

As far as I know, only a single player operates on the both the Dutch and German driving theory market. There do exist Dutch driving theory sets of course, and one of them used to be on CD-i. That product has now migrated to PC's with a DVD drive, however. Until a few years ago, the official Dutch d...

I've seen this software. It comes with a book with many questions about driving theory, hundreds of them. Each question would have a barcode with it, allowing a teacher to easily jump to that particular question in the software. Sure beats having to type in numbers (needs a keyboard), or navigating ...
