Re: Amazing!

there seems to be a 4MHz crystal driven by an internal oscillator within the chip itself, but there is no option between PAL and NTSC parts. It's weird because I think it should be driven at 4.43MHz for PAL and 3.58MHz for NTSC. Maybe that crystal isn't for video timing and the video timing is cont...

I have the full (paper) service manuals for many Philips players (not all), but they are hard to scan because the interesting parts are all folding out to several times A4 size. Found most of these for sale online by accident several years ago, don't know if they are still obtainable. There used to ...

I don't mind, the information is there to be used. Just answering Ozfer's question about where the information came from (at least partially), since it's a bit hard to find on the site. I've got a fairly complete set of Philips CD-i player service manuals and these include the schematics and board d...

This is based on part of my CD-i Emulator site here: http://www.cdiemu.org/site/hw/cdi210sw.htm. All of the pictures there are links to larger versions.

Are you sure that it was the actual activation that required Administrator privileges?

The error message is misleading, but refers not to the actual activation but to something else, as described in this thread.

I must have missed your mail, sorry. The issue you describe is caused by Windows Vista/7/8 UAC and can be ignored. It merely means that file extensions could not be registered, CD-i Emulator should otherwise function normally.

Re: No Sound in many Games

I read that the guy who made cdiemu is in contact with the MESS guy. The same files (cd-i BIOS and Zelda games) do work on MESS. He could maybe ask them how they did it. The current development version already has sound for these titles, but it was mostly developed by me and then passed to the MESS...

Yes, if you are careful bending the metal lips of the enclosure. There are no screws.

The DVC board inside the 21TCDI30 is identical to the one inside the 22ER9956/40 DVC cartridge (IMPEG). If you obtain one of the latter you can open the case and use the PCB as a replacement.

That's one way of phrasing it, yes. But why bad? It performs okay for the purpose!
