You can replace the whole chip but on the other hand these are getting old and it might not last that long for all the effort. Personally I'm an advocate of the shave/solder approach, just be careful and read all the information available on-line really carefully! This provides a long term solution ...

Incredible find, especially boxed! The LG does have integrated controls, the first pad pictured should work fine the second one I can not gurantee would work with your LG. It has problems with latter CD-i units! Also the third joypad button is simply a combination of buttons 1 and 2 so you have the ...

Re: Japanese Development

Anybody have any info or links to info about Japanese CD-i titles? Bas would know better than me about the Japanese side of things, check his blog... interactive Dreams I operate GDRI :: Game Developer Research Institute . I've run into a few Japanese contract developers that worked on CD-i stuff. ...

CD-i 490 in disguise!

Just picked up a knackered 470 to have a poke around. Once I opened it up I found a Digital Video Cartridge installed which was only supposed to be found in the more advanced 490 model! Everything points to this player being labelled a 470 so what gives? Just curious if others have experienced this ...

All those games are pretty common except The Last Bounty Hunter which is fairly desirable and can sell for more than your average CD-i game. Mad Dog 2 less so but it can still command a good price. The 220 is fairly common as far as players go nothing too special. I'm not sure how to equate prices t...

No slip case for Zelda's Adventure as it wasn't officially launched in America! Only games released in the USA (had a US catalogue number) came complete with slip case.

I just happen to have worked for the company that created "Zelda's Adventure" for Philips. The game was supposed to have been released in November '93, but ...
