Hi Alan,
I'd still love to see some pics/video material! You think that's possible?

You mean VGA? It doesn't support that. There's only a composite connector (if I remember correctly, a coax+ RF modulator and tulip ports)

16 october in the US it seems. So what are you planning?
Google tells me it's December 3 1991 (various sources) (or November 2 in 1 source). And April 1992 in the UK (1 source).

I'm planning not to let it pass in silence ;)

CD-i Launch Date ?

CD-i was launched in 1991. That's 20 years ago. Does anyone know/remember the exact date when CD-i was launched in the market?

Re: Complete CD-i games list?

I am looking for a complete list of CD-I games released in the US and Europe. I have found a couple of lists online (digitpress, wikipedia, good deal games etc.) but I don't know if they are accurate. So is there only one game, Golgo 13, released outside of US and Europe? Where can I find the most ...

There are of course less test discs rather than retail discs, so it's pretty rare. But in my opinion it's not worth a lot. It doesn't have any unseen material on it, it's not really 'beta' as it's typically the full retail version printed on test discs.

User reviews of CD-i games on Interactive Dreams

I'd like to have some more game related content on Interactive Dreams and maybe you would like to help me with that! I'm looking for you who have or can write user reviews of any CD-i game you like. So if you'd like to contribute on some Interactive Dreams articles, please let me know and so we can ...

The Gamester gamepad is one of the best CD-i gamepads, so you can't go wrong. It's pretty rare, so don't feel like you've payed too much. I don't think you will find it cheaper anytime soon.

I've no idea but I don't remember a lot of cover cd's. In The Netherlands, there was the Gold Club Disc (with playable demos of games by The Vision Factory (1994..?), the Micro machines demo disc (around 1995) and a video reel vcd with future game releases (1996). That's 3, and that's it.

Well, in the past years I've only seen the Philips scans (dug up by.... Terratron?) and that's it. I've never seen a real copy anywhere. So I guess that's a pretty rare piece. It was very rare, and expensive at the time.

I think Animation Magic's Zelda efforts are pretty good, but they suffer from carrying the Zelda tag along. If it were original IP games, probably the games would be overlooked just like other CD-i games, but at least the average review value was higher. The games are huge, there's a lot of explorin...

That's a pity Austin, I hope you will receive it soon!
I'd definitely try to get Creature Shock, which was my favourite experience on CD-i.

Hi Austin, The CD-i Mouse is really just a pointing device just like the gamepad. It is basically compatible with every single CD-i title, but it's true some works better than another. For example, you don't want to play The Apprentice with a mouse, do you? You'd be rolling the ball constantly :) Ti...

Alice in Wonderland is an adventure game, much in the vein of Laser Lords or even Zelda CD-i, you walk around, solve some puzzles, say the right things in chats. Nothing educational at all. I enjoyed Atlantis quite a lot, but it's true it's more a technical marvel rather than a great game, the most ...
