Re: Hotel Mario - The Good & the Bad

I'd like to add one. I think the fact that you jump and get hit by enemies on the next floor almost ruins the game. Leads to so many unfair deaths. I noticed this too, but I feel this aspect gives it a sense of challenge, requiring some form of strategy and a bit of thinking ahead to get through so...

I haven't been looking recently, but about a month ago I received a package in the mail with several titles, including Voyeur, Mystic Midway: Rest in Pieces, Mystic Midway: Phantom Express, Escape From Cyber City, and more (nothing too notable). Still on the lookout for a DVC compatible with my unit...

No, I wasn't meaning the quality of the CDR or anything like that ... just certain models (like the more common 450) seem to have difficulty reading them on a regular basis. I have tried many backups on my recently-acquired 450 and I can attest to this. In contrast, with the same types of discs, my...

A teen rating sounds about right to me. There are instances of people getting shot and dying in the cinematic sequences, but if I remember correctly, there isn't any blood or anything.

sit down and play it from beginning to end it will definitely take a full day. unless youre so good you can finish each level in the first go. I recall spending lots of time just trying to finish level 5, maybe an hour or more. Trev is right on this one, Out of This World is a short game. Its illus...

Likewise, I appreciate the work put into both the forum and the blog. Both proved to be excellent resources when I began to get back into the platform a few months ago!

From what I have played of this game so far, I like it more than I expected. The visuals are colorful, the music and sound effects are fitting, the controls are relatively responsive and the whole concept takes a minute to pick up on. Obviously the FMV is, well.. rather embarrassing, to say the leas...

Try out Zelda's Adventure (somehow, some way) if you can, Trev. From what I've tried, it's a good step up from the first two. Hardly great compared to the Nintendo-developed ones, but it's actually kind of fun.

Yeah, I stand by my word.. I just personally do not find it fun. It seems to be more about watching your ball bounce between a few bumpers, with maybe a fat guy or two here and there to run into as well. And the flipper action is just terrible.. Keep in mind though I'm also a big console pinball fan...

I just received Pinball in the mail today, but after giving it some time, I don't think I will torture myself to try and score high on that one.

Very cool.. I just logged in to see if there was any activity on this. I will play Rest in Pieces and submit a score shortly. Edit: An hour or two later, my best score is 28,935. I don't think I've ever gotten much higher than this. Nearing level 20, the game starts to get pretty tough. :( I might h...

I'd like an excuse to play my CD-i more, but I only have access to a few score-based games: Mystic Midway: Rest in Pieces, Alien Gate, Dimo's Quest, Pac-Panic, the Namco Arcade collection, both Golden Oldies, and.. I think that's about it (Most everything else I have are adventure titles, or DVC gam...

I think you are probably right Trev. I have only tried my mouse with two games so far, Lemmings and Rest in Pieces, but it's great for both. And personally, I didn't find the flying segments all that great anyways. They weren't exactly Star Fox, if you ask me (can't help but make that comparison as ...
