Hi everyone In my opinion, the rarest cd-i game of all has to be ''What's it Worth?''. I know this was released, but have NEVER seen the full released version on e-bay in nearly 7 years. Also, cd-i magazine stated that ''The Secret name of Ra'' was released in Germany. Have never seen that either. P...

NFL Instant replay game

Hi everyone

Does anyone have this game and would be up for exchanging it or selling it to me?

Thanks for your time, and have a great Christmas.

Hi there I haven't heard of those movies before, but if they are MPEG-1 compatible they will play on your cd-i 220 once it is fitted with the DV cartridge. Beware though that some videocd's will not play on Philps cd-i, as they are the wrong 'version' (I think there's 1.0, 1.1 & 2.0 - not all work o...

Earliest cd-i memory

I thought I'd start a new topic... When did you first hear about the cd-i? I was watching Saturday morning tv in early 1994. Back then, there was a lot of gaming coverage. They featured the portable cd-i 350 and I was totally blown away by it. They said it's only available to buy at Harrods and cost...

Surviving players!

Hi everyone It's been widely reported about the sad end of the cd-i 350. All of mine stopped working at the same time. It makes me concerned that the parts in a cd-i player have a specific lifespan (for example 15 years). I was wondering if any other players in the series have stopped working comple...

Calypso,

That's really cool that you have Battle Chess - I had no idea that a playable version of this game existed!

What is the game like to play? Would love to hear more about it!

Thanks

Hi everyone I still play on my cd-i regularly, I'd say every week. My friends also come over to play it and we have some fun in 2 player mode on games ilike Micro Machines & Solar Crusade. For me, the cd-i will never be replaced - it is totally unique. I've been collecting discs for 14 years now and...

Portable Goldstar GPI 1100M for exchange

Hi everyone

I have the above cd-i player in mint condition with ac adaptor & remote. It is extremely rare, and is the version without a screen. I am willing to exchange it for a DVS VE-200 player, also in mint condition.

If anyone is interested, please drop me a reply.

Thanks for looking!

Bas,

When you close the lid after inserting the disc, it doesn't recognise that a disc is in there! And it also makes some noises. Not good! Does your 490 still have it's memory in tact? I don't think there was battery back up for those was there?

The end for the 350?

Hi everyone This month, all of my cd-i350 machines have stopped working. I've invested in a few over recent years (could never have afforded them when they were first released!!) but each one no longer plays discs. The memory went quite a few years back, but as long as you play a game that doesn't n...

Bas Many thanks for your help with the link. You know me Bas, I am cd-i through & through! Many of the titles I'm selling I already own, and have built up through buying collections in the past. I'm still eager for new cd-i games, and e-mailed Charles recently about his project (unfortunately I've n...

Ultra cd-i soccer

Hi everyone I was playing Ultra cd-i soccer tonight and noticed something which I thought I would bring to your attention... When configuring your team for play, you'll notice that the names have been altered slightly (due to licensing laws I would guess). However, if you choose to play with Manches...

Hi Charles, Devin, Bas + everyone Just wanted to share something with you. I go onto 'Wikipedia' quite a lot, and typed in cd-i. A nice article there. But there's a link to the cd-i games available for it and it's bang up to date, featuring 'Frog Feast' and get this... 'Cannone' (in development). Ho...
