Re: New forum?

Alan's Philips CD-i Zone is very nice and he showed us a lot of rare CD-i's recently! Some of us who are visiting since the start of Black Moon are still here, so it's more a kind of sleeping place here. There's no kind of 'new forum', this is just it! :) There's also ]Interactive Dreams - but I see...

Spam problems?

Hi there! I'm sorry I haven't been an active member lately. I cleared some of the spam users that were here lately. Since we're on the new forum version, it appears possible again for spam accounts to get here. If you find any spam users that I did not find yet, let me know your thoughts by replying...

Re: CD-i interview on Radio 1 (Netherlands)

Thanks! That's an easy way to listen. Very nice interview piece, too bad it aired at 3:00 at night! It should be aired at prime time :)

Re: CD-i interview on Radio 1 (Netherlands)

Did you hear it? I tried to find it but the whole hour (and the hour after that) they didn't talk about CD-i. It was indeed a program about 'Modern Nostalgia' so I'd guess CD-i would fit in it nicely :)

Truth be told, I don't know if the CD-i was designed with games in mind. However, I know that some of the early games for it weren't fully thought out. For instance, Tetris. I know everyone loves to, well--love this game, but it's half-baked in my opinion from an actual gameplay perspective (it's g...

The Peacekeeper calibrates on the sensor box, so you need to put it in the bottom middle of the TV, or on the middle top of it. It's possible that daylight causes some interference, or candlelight, those are all other sources of infrared light. Try it in the dark, does that work better? The Peacekee...

I'm afraid on ebay, these kind of prices are pretty normal... That replaceable battery mod is nice, and neccessary for the future. Personally I'd wait and try to get my hands on a LG GDI-700M, a Goldstar GPI-1100M or a Philips cd-i 490/470 (probably the easiest to get your hands on)

Good luck!

Hi Arethius_RGC, I'm not sure what happened, but the Black Moon Project never shut down, possibly there was a reset that causes a small time-out, or perhaps there could be a problem with your connection, but for the time being, The Black Moon Project will remain available. Having said that, Devin is...

The kiosk players (the blue demo pods) in consumer stores had hidden CD-i players behind a shell, (I thought those were normal players inside) They were also made for bussiness kiosk places in professional places, Ican imagine Philips removed the power button and the joystick port to prevent people ...

I used to have a CD-i 450 player with a serial port. It was, however, not positioned on the player it self but as a part of the power supply (connections were split). The owner told me it could be connected to the PC with it. Mainly used for professional players, he connected a printer to the CD-i p...

Hi Justin, All types of (wired) CD-i controllers work the same way; The Roller Controller is a generic input device and is supported by ALL CD-i software. If it doesn work, it's probably dust keeping the parts from detecting any movement. It happened to me too, and I removed the screws, opened the c...

It depends on what you want! If you want a complete list of discs that are compatible with the CD-i format, I have to say no. There were too many (small) publishing deals around the world that even these days I'm surprised to find an unknown CD-i disc. Especially in the professional world en the Vid...
