I have it and tried it for the first time last week. It's neat initially, but I can't really figure out what to do in the immediate shooting/flying section..

Wow, and a new one at that. I'd be curious to know what you think of it. Especially if you ever get Creature Shock. I will certainly shoot my opinions your way.. I'm curious to know how it will work considering most games don't have sensitivity control options. I'm hoping I don't have to dra...

OK, great! Nice Youtube channel, BTW, I've subbed! So, the PS1 mouse works on the CD-i?? That would be nice to use. You can buy a CD-i mouse. I just received one of these in the mail today: http://cgi.ebay.com/CD-I-Mouse-22ER9011-Philips-12-95-/390326776426?pt=BI_Blank_Media&hash=item5ae149f26a. Lo...

I haven't played Dimo's Quest yet, but I did watch a Youtube vid on it and it seems like a cute game. Has a look that (sorta) reminds me of the Lynx game Chip's Challenge. I read the review on Bas's site and it's likened to Chips Challenge very much. From what I can tell, it only has a fraction of ...

Without a doubt (Night Trap, anyone?). And actually, the gameplay concept of that one (likewise with Double Switch) wasn't bad at all.. The execution on the other hand is a different story altogether..

Btw, now that you have a console, what are your thoughts on the games you've gotten so far? Hm.. Well, it's been a very mixed bag. Very. I am really impressed with Dimo's Quest though. Very polished game. I've been mixing it up with some backups of games I don't have yet, and Pac-Panic is another o...

I remember Pinball really standing out back then (now that I see it, it's garbage! :P Its a shame, cuz it could've been a really good game w/a bit more effort. If only there was more to the tables ... Exactly.. The tables are so bare, it's ridiculous. The flipper-action could have been better, too,...

I think just about everything that requires precise movements would be improved. If anything, having the d-pad on the left and the action buttons on the right would make it feel much more natural. I have been playing my system for the last few nights with the stock 450 controller (maybe the same thi...

Very early '90s, I remember having to go to see my aunt in the hospital late one night. In the visitors room there was a CD-i system with the kids rollerball controller. It wasn't on, but the one or two other times I saw the system at other locations, they usually had that controller. A few years la...

Pac-Panic

I just did a search for this game and didn't see a dedicated thread to it. So, here we go.. Since I acquired my CD-i, I have been trying a lot of different games, stuff I have never tried before. A lot are, well.. Let's just not speak of those, haha. After trying the mixed-bag that is the Namco arca...

I am curious about this as well. My newly acquired 450 has a dead battery, too.

WTB: Digital Video Cartridge

Hey everyone, I just received a CD-i 450 and am in need of a DVC to add to it. I suppose no country is out of bounds for me as long as you take PayPal and are reliable (preferably with feedback somewhere).. Shoot me a message with a price if you have one! If you are in the US, I may be able to work ...

Why do you call it Evilbay? :? Quite honestly Alan, there are a lot of reasons... They have jacked up their fees to where it's not always beneficial to sell there; they have restructured their rules/regulations where nearly any buyer can get a refund for whatever reason (this is TERRIBLE for seller...

Thanks, Trev! Fortunately I do have a few point 'n click titles, so I will be able to make-do with them via the stock controller on the 450. I wish it game with an actual gamepad, but I digress.. Here's to hoping one pops up on evilBay soon so I can play those action titles appropriately! :)

Price and marketing go a long way. In my area of the US (Northern Virginia/DC area), I saw a CD-i in a store only once. That was in a Montgomery Ward store (Anyone in the US remember them? I didn't think so ;)). I only saw actual CD-i systems at places that valued edutainment--For instance, a hospit...
