I won a portable 370 today on eBay (10.00 with accessories and case, can you believe it!) and I was wondering if there is a true controller port on the unit or if it's primarily a player with minimal game functionality. I can't seem to remember from what I've read in the past and can't seem to find...

I had the same problem.

I left my CDI-450 plugged in for a few (maybe 8 hours), and it now works fine.

The Atari 2600 is *super* crap, compared to even the CD-i, but people still love it. Games such as pitfall are still a lot of fun to play today.

I just downloaded the unlimited version. Amazing stuff. I like that it asks if you want to save the nvr on exit. What is the difference in how a disk is launched when Play CD-I disc (Skip...) is checked? Frog Feast crashes back to the system on launch using this option, but plays fine when Play-CDI ...

This blocking is a result of to much pressure on the dish that turns the CD-i. The dish is pressed against the motorhousing. By putting two small screwdrivers under the dish at opposite sides you can try to lift it, so that it turns smoothly. This seems to be a very common problem with older CD gam...

With a professional player, it's just a matter of copying the file to the hard drive. It's easy, and could be easier with FTP.

BTW, any news on Frog Feast? I'm busy finishing up two versions for CGE and VGEXPO, but after that I will start back in on the CD-I version. Philips CD-I 602
Philips CD-I 605
Philips CD-I 450 (PAL)
Magnavox CD-I 550 (NTSC)

I have two testing version games. They are Muzzy and Cluedo. Muzzy is Phase 3, but I don't remember which phase Cluedo is.

I've also downloaded prototype versions of Plunderball, and a few others that I can't remember.

It's not on the American ebay. That's why it seemed new.

All it took was charging up the battery, I guess. I left it on for 4 or 5 hours, and it worked after that.

I remember seeing this magazine in the US. It didn't sound too familiar until I saw the cover.

I don't think I knew what a CD-I was back then though.
