I couldn't read my OS9 disks on the PC either, but the 605 had no problems with them. The sectors are 256 bytes, not the usual 512 for PC floppies, it could be that Windows XP has problems with this. The Grundig player was supposedly a version of the Philips CD-i 220 which could be compatible, depending on the exact 220 revision.
