Bas, most of the latter pictures in your article show up as "Tom's hardware guide"; this is probably a bug somewhere?

The streamium is supposed to play Java games (or so I think), but I'm hard pressed to find info about programmability or even capability (CPU, MHz, MB, etc). Also, on various forums around the buyers seem somewhat disappointed with Philips' support and such.

At home they worked fine, but here I notice the same thing. They probably disabled external linking...

It's like a Media Center... You can do the same sort of things. Ofcourse the Games aren't really something special, but the overall picture looked pretty nice to me.

Yeah Nice piece of kit.. Philips is really getting back in shape I think, they have a host of interesting innovative products lately..

- Ambilight LCD TV's
- Streamiums that play games
- Entertaible
- Home audio streamers
- Clothes with moving/changing lights in them..

Hope they keep it up...

I wouldnt call this CD-i 2 though..

At one time there was some talk of a DVD-i, but it never happened... shame!

I wonder (and doubt) if they ever produced prototypes of those. I've also read about a cd-i compatibility in (the first) Philips DVD players. Probably this was only a plan...Or they wanted this to be the video function of the CD-i 2...
