Quick question

First things first, I am NOT looking to obtain ROMS from anyone else or anywhere on the internet. That being said:
My CD-i has long since broken, and I still have my copy of Burn:Cycle which I've been aching to play for weeks now. Without a working CD-i, is there any way to get my copy of Burn:Cycle onto my PC so I can emulate it? I've considered purchasing a copy of the game for Windows, but I have Vista, and I can almost guarantee that it wouldn't work, and I don't want to waste my money.
I know usually people use a CD-i Link to get ROM images from their discs... can a computer CD-ROM even read a CD-i disc? If it cannot, then I guess I have no way of getting the ROM to my hard drive; either that, or I can buy a used CD-i on eBay or something. Either way, my main goal is to run the game on my computer, as back when I first bought the game in '94, I remember the standard CD-i controller being mind-numbingly frustrating to use in certain parts of the game (blowing up the mines while flying, for example). I figure a mouse will be a little easier on my temper. Seeing as how the PC version of the game was inferior to the CD-i version, I would rather play the original but with the added perks of PC peripherals.
Any suggestions?
