Null modem cable

Will I be able to use a standard null modem cable or do I have to buy a special one?
I have 3, CD-i 220 units (one newer version and 2 older) and an LG GDI-700M.
I would love to run this through an emulator!! Hopefully, we'll all be able to use our DV titles as well
