These pics are from a Playstation 1 development version, it's no SNES CD controller or anything. These were posted on a forum in 2001, a long time ago, it seems like this guy is selling it now ;)

It's just a beta version of the PSX controller. Not worth 3000 bucks!

Isn't it Sony or Nintendo? Not Philips related?

I can see why it could possibly be mistaken for a SNES/NES controller based on the generic layout of the buttons and such, but still it doesnt look like what its claiming to be, i mean my old PC joypad should be a "Sony SNES" controller as it has the exact same layout/shape/design, eaven though Sony had absolutely nothig to do with SNES if I remember correctly lol.

what a gip a development PSX - who wants that?? at least its not a fake, but it is false advertising... if he was selling the actual system it would cost a large fortune though!

gtdalby - it's my understanding that the SNES CD was a joint development between Philips, Sony and Nintendo.

I would assume a so-called 'prototype' PSX controller shouldn't have a serial port plug, right?

Early Playstation (Or Play Station with a space, I dunno exactly what it is) used Serial connectors as the ports ;)

"In June of 1991, at the Chicago CES, Sony officially announced the Play Station (space intentional). As originally announced, the Play Station would have a port to play Super Nintendo cartridges, as well as a CD-ROM drive that would play 680 megabyte Sony Super Discs."
