HELP! Need cdi TV output cable! $$$

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

HELP! Need cdi TV output cable! $$$

Post by americancdier » Wed Mar 01, 2006 11:54 pm

Thank you for viewing my post. I'm in despersate need of a output cable from my magnavox CDi to any form of input, preferably component, composite(RCA), or S-video. But any kind will work. I will pay for the unit and shipping to the States. PLEASE! I have a CDi and 56 games, 3 controllers, and an airmouse...but no way of playing. Thanks again and any help is appreciated!

The cable in the picture is a SCART connector, also called EURO-connector for a reason. I don't think a US TV will have support for it.

You should be able to get a so-called "CVBS with Audio" cable at any reasonable electronics store... One side will have three small connectors like the ones abundantly shown in the picture (yellow = composite video signal, white = left audio signal, red = right audio signal), the other side would have a S-connector or whatever you need for your TV.

I have a multimedia projector capable of international signal inputs. What connectors were manufactured for our CDi's? I am looking for the highest res capable cable. Thanks!

Do USA televisions don't have a SCART connector? Do they have an alternative connector?

Also, do these SCART connectors offer a higher resolution rather than the analogue 'tulip' connectors (or how are they called!)
