How to open a CD-i 450/550?

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

How to open a CD-i 450/550?

Hi there,

I need to know what type of laser unit is used in my CD-i 550, but I have no idea how to open this thing. :shock: I expected screws under the four rubber feet, but there aren't any... Is the case just glued together?

hi
I thought (my 450 is packed!) the sides could be clicked out of the bottom and you can easily lift the case without dismantling any screws. However I tend not to put those screws back again because I'm lazy :D
