CD-i "Recording"
So here are my plans. I want to create a CD-i but only with diverse soundfiles. (i think .mpeg1 or 2?) So a CD-i- Player read it and the user can choose from 8 tracks. I want to create by using an Apple Mac. I have got Toast Titanium which supports Enhanced Audio.
May I move the discussion to another forum topic (there are no hardware concernings anymore)?

you can easily do that with Nero, right? I've made a few photo albums on VCD like that, it can hold up to 200 pics, playable on any standard DVD and CD-i player.WindowsKiller wrote:That's easy. Just create a VideoCD with 8 chapters (one for each track) and use a still frame for the video stream.banna wrote:So here are my plans. I want to create a CD-i but only with diverse soundfiles. But.... that's no cd-i, just a compatible format

@banna: Could you please tell us if you really want to play all tracks simultaneously? There was some confusion about that. If so, you would need a PC with a soundcard that offers at least 8 channels, it can't be done with CD-i. If not, an audio cd will do the job. (or a video cd if you want to have a custom menu where the user can choose the track)
hi
I am still looking for all information I need (from customer)
I want to change the channels on the fly, I mean, channel 1 is at 00:01:10:00 -> change language -> channel 2 should be at 00:01:10:13
is not going to work with normal audio CD?
So the next 3 or 4 weeks I can't follow this discussion, because of no customer information. But next year i'll be back, so please don't forget!
thanks so far for all your help and hope we'll chat soon.

Heho,
happy new year.
I have a CD-i. It has 8 Tracks: either 4x Stereo or 8xMono. It has to be played parallel and all the tracks have to be looped. These CD-i is used on airplanes and is played back by CD-i Player (without Videocartridge). The content will be some Music programmes (either 4 or 8 depends on client)
I tried to read a CD-i with my PC, but it does not.
May it help?
