complete games list

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

it's difficult to get one for reference, kids, etc but there is one for movies its on the interactive dreams blog. I'm surprised there isn't one for games already. anyway I made one but I'm not sure how complete and accurate it is. Hopefully a CD-i veteran will comment on what is wrong with it and missing from it

Hi,

It also very much depends on what you call games.
A lot of informational cdis have been released and also a lot of children's cdi discs.

Some titles that could be considered as games(partly at least), and some children's titles that spring to mind (and are not included yet):

All the Fun of the Fair Engels voor Kinderen
Bij Berenstain Beren Thuis
CD-Online Internet browser (this titles includes Ram-Raid)
Enkhuizer Almanak 1997
Face Kitchen
Gifts to Behold
Gnomes
Golf My Way
Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Carnival
Hieperdepiep, ik lees!
Hondenliefde
Krijtjesfabriek
Lekker Lezen over Huisdieren
Monty Python more naughty bits
Muzzy
Night in Nylon City
Origami
Richard Scarry's Allerbeste Buurt Disc!
Richard Scarry's Allerdrukste Buurt Disc!
Richard Scarry's Best Neighborhood Disc Ever!
Rollerbollen
Rules of Golf
Sandy's Circus Avontuur
Sargon Chess
Schilderschool 2
Schilderschool
Secrets of Tatjana (if you also include the "uncover" disc)
Stickybear Family Fun Game
Tell me Why II
Tennis Our Way
Thunder in Paradise
Tim & Bear at the Airport
Tim & Bear at the Harbour
Tim & Beer bij de film
Tim & Beer in de Haven
Tim & Beer in het Ziekenhuis
Tim & Beer op het vliegveld
Tom Magic Picture show
UEFA Champions League
Ultimate Noah's Ark
USA 94 world Cup
Verhalen Toverdoos Magische vertellingen
Verhalen Toverdoos Sterrendromen
Visit to Sesame Street Letters
Visit to Sesame Street Numbers
Vliegende Hollander
Wacky World of Miniature Golf
Yearn 2 Learn

There may be more, and maybe you don't consider then game discs, but it may be handy for a "complete" list.

Good to see that someone is working on a game list too. I’m usually only reading in this forum, but I thought it’s about time to register and try to help a bit. First of all, I think it would be interesting to discuss the question “What is a game?” I made some “rules” for myself.

Children stuff: It’s a game if it has no educational intention and has more game play than just an interactive story. For example “Haunted house” is a game for me.
Quizzes: A lot of CD-i’s do contain small quizzes, but I wouldn’t count them all as games. My “rule” is that the quizzes need to be more than a small addition to the other content. For example “Shark alert” is not a game for me, but “Sport Freaks” is.

The first list I got was the one from Digital Press. I took that and expanded it when I got/saw new games. Right now my list includes 148 games. The games missing on your list are:

Archeon CD-i Quiz
Do You Remember The 60s?
Flinstones/Jetsons: Time Warp
Girl's Club
Goal!
Great British Golf
Haunted House
International Tennis Open (2 Player)
Journal Interactif '94
Journal Interactif '95
NFL Instant Replay
Shadoan - Kingdom II
Super Test
Thunder In Paradise
Vegas Girls
Wacky World Of Miniature Golf, The
Wimbledon Challenge

Some questions about your list:
053 Holland Casino CD-i: Do you have more information on this game? I’ve never seen it and I couldn’t find any information in the internet. What is the exact title?
047 Golgo 13: Do we have confirmation that this game was released? Does anybody have it?
By the way, you have two numbers 044 on your list. One is “Go” and can be deleted.

I saw in the "european releases?"-thread that Go was released in Italy. I missed that one too. Is it the same game as the one released by OlderGames?

Hello! Considering your 'rules' there are a few I think you shouldn't count as a game, including Wimbledon (trivia quiz), Super Test (IQ tests), NFL Instant Replay (that's just a videocd, right? Or is it the trivia CD? That's not a game either IMO). The Journal Interactif CD's are nothing more than some trivia questions over a reference news disc, Goal is the english version of 'Voetbal' I thought, which is hardly a game too.

Some questions about your list:
053 Holland Casino CD-i: Do you have more information on this game? I’ve never seen it and I couldn’t find any information in the internet. What is the exact title?
That's indeed a game which Holland Casino produced in the Netherlands to use as a gift in their casino's. You can play the basic casino games in here which are better than Caesar's Gambling. A rare title!
047 Golgo 13: Do we have confirmation that this game was released? Does anybody have it?
There is one guy who offered the info and screens of Golgo 13 to us, but nobody else has it neither have we ever seen it on ebay or anywhere else. As long as that is, there's no confirmation it is officially released. But it does exist!

welcome to the forums and thanks for your suggestions. but I just wanted to get some sort of rough game list started for another member. I have very few cd-i titles compared to most of the collectors here so they are a lot more qualified to decide which titles are games. I'll leave it to them to decide if and how they will continue the list.

So I see, Shroo-man, you're missing Shaolin's Road with a map? I can't remember there's a map in Shaolin's Road.

Solar Crusade is a great game, I was so happy they didn't cancel it after their announcement in 1996. It's just like Chaos Control, only with far better graphics.

Okay, thanks for your help. Most of the titles you’ve mentioned are missing in my collection. The only one I have (now) is “Goal!”, which is not the English version of “Voetball”. (If I remember correctly, the English version of “Voetball” is called “Football”.)
“Goal!” is imo clearly a game. The concept is, that you have to answer questions and that you get moves in a soccer game when you answer them in the right way. The disc is in 8 languages.

I did some research on Japanese CD-i titles and found a page which includes a cover scan from “Golgo 13”. http://www.gamest.com/cd-i/cd-i-soft.htm He also lists a CD-i title called “CD-I Mah-jong”, but unfortunately without a cover scan.
Bas wrote:So I see, Shroo-man, you're missing Shaolin's Road with a map? I can't remember there's a map in Shaolin's Road.
I have the French version and it has a map. It shows the way to Shaolin with all(?) the places you can visit on your way.

Okay, I see. But anyway it’s great that you've started the list! At least I saw some games I wasn’t aware that they exist.

Those are unique pics! I've never seen any covers from Japan! I posted them on Interactive Dreams, thanks for the link!

(Too bad the whole CD-i community seems like sleeping lately :D)
