CD-i gaming over the holiday break

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

CD-i gaming over the holiday break

Post by Trev » Sun Dec 19, 2010 4:53 pm

Since most of us will be getting some extra time off in the next week or two ... any plans to bust out the CD-i and play a game, watch a vcd, etc ...?

Besides plugging away at Flashback, I've got a mutant rampage saved game that I should probably try to finish. There are a handful of others too, but if I'm being realistic, time goes by too quick to fit in all the gaming you want ... especially for an older console like CD-i. But it will get a little bit of my attention.

How about you guys?

I think I'm going to give some time to the two Zelda games I own.
I've had them for quite some time now but never got around to really playing them.
I want to make up my own mind on whether they really deserve all the terrible rep they've received over the years.
So I'm going in with an open mind. Wish me luck. :P

It is best to disassociate them from the Zelda games that Nintendo makes. Viewed soley on their own, they do have some merit. Patience is needed though.

Best wishes.

Some games that still don't disappoint here are games like Mad Dog McCree, there are just no games like that anymore on the current systems, which is a big shame in my opinion. Drug Wars and Crime Patrol are among the excellence of FMV gaming.

CD-i can't be beat when it comes to the ALG games.

Indeed, even the recent Wii compilation can't stand up to the CD-i versions...
