When games don't play as good as they look

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

Caesar's World of Boxing

Seriously, is this game anything more than a mindless button masher w/little strategy wrapped up in nice graphics? I think the eye candy helps distract from the limited gameplay.

"Palm Springs Open" is the first game that comes to my mind. Also, "CD Shoot".

If the game was in monochrome, using a red/orange colour scheme, with a frame-rate of 2 frames per a second, being played on a bad LCD TV that causes excessive digital artifact problems....the graphics would still be far better than the gameplay.
