Really interesting old video with Electronic Arts and CD-i..

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLN3XY5CJjE Before watching this video, I didn't know that CD-i technology was even being discussed in the late 1980's. I don't think that Electronic Arts ever developed any games for the Philips CD-i.

Interesting indeed. I remember that video, slapped it at the end of one of my earlier video's.

Some interesting reads from the Interactive Dreams blog:

It would have been interesting to see what EA could/would have done w/CD-i technology. Their releases rocked on 3DO!

I agree! As enthusiastic as the EA guy sounded in that video, I wonder what the heck happened? Did Phillips and EA just not play well together, or did Phillips not send out enough dev. kits?? Something had to have happened, that's for sure.
