FS: Philips CDi-605T Professional CDi player

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

It's been on Marktplaats for weeks, no interest, and I mean no interest at all. Not a single email. And I didn't put a price on it, just "price to be agreed upon. No email, none.. It's white, it's pro. People want something that fits into their hifi rack, black and cheap. They're not collectors or hobbyists.

(BTW: Do you sell stuff on Marktplaats? Any trouble with Nigerian scammers lately? I got dozens of emails from those guys in the past few weeks.)

Ebay is not much better. And you'll wind up with paying a lot of costs and not getting it sold. Not to mention abusive emails about why you put a reserve price on something.

I'll disassemble it this weekend if no-one has need of it, can't keep this around, it's in the way. The MV cart, board, remote and manual () I know some people are interested in, and they'll take up much less space to store here.

I think the CDi emu is going to reduce interest in hardware more, once the news gets out big, an article on a well-known news site or such. Good and well-deserved for CDi-fan, for the rest of us better start selling if you don't want to keep it :D :D

Hopefully, then we can all buy cheap CD-i Players off of ebay!!

Seriously though the collector market is quite healthy at the moment, just recently I saw a fully boxed 490 CD-i player go for around £100.

What's this about you taking apart the 605T, sacrilege I tell you. Is nothing sacred anymore

Sheesh, I'm away from my PC for a few hours and suddenly this thread comes alive. Can't a guy destroy a CDi player in peace?

Seriously, I haven't pulled it apart yet, but if really no-one wants it in one piece... I know there are people who do want some parts of it (got an offer of 20 Euro just for the remote, and someone here wants the tech docs :D).

I'll head over to my PM box and send you guys a reply.

BTW PhilipsCDi, I replied to your PM. You suggested calling you but you didn't leave a phone number....

Didn't I? Gosh, I can be stupid sometimes, so I'm not surprised that I didn't... I sent you another PM with my offer. Be aware that I'm not super-interested. I just don't want you to kill it! Honestly, I think my wife will kill ME if I come home with ANOTHER CD-i player!

PhilipsCDi.com has courageously (braving the wrath of his wife :D) saved the 605T from the metal shredder.

Applause please

So all this stuff and the VCDs are sold. Move along.
