hello
i am looking to hook up all my system with the clearest video.
right now i take the rgb out from the systems and run it to my xrgb2 plus that upscans the video to vga. i take the vga output and hook it up to my hd dlp display.

it seems the cdi 220 may have some rgb support.
i always see rgb in some frech sites but cant read any of it.
this may only be in the pal ver with the scart plug only?

i dont have the manual for the cdi any more and there are a few sockets in the system i have no clue on what they do.
an english pdf would be great. plus that may help me with the rgb signal i want.

To my knowledge, you can only get RGB output from a Philips CD-i player using the scart (also called euro-connector) output, which means PAL and is consequently not directly possible with NTSC players. It might be possible to "tap" these signals from the circuit board, but you'd need schematics for that...

The Philips Customer Care website has PDF manuals for many CD-i player types; just type "CDI NNN" in the "Enter model number" box where NNN is the CD-i model.

I have it on excellent authority (broadcast TV technicians using studio equipment) that the quality of the CD-i 605 video output (at least with respect to timing) is not up to broadcast standards, but regular TVs don't seem to mind. Don't know about consumer players, though.

you'll find both english and other languages as well. If you tab back one directory you'll notice other 220 types, from 220/25 up to 220/60

is this the same thing what you achieve with the RF Modulator?

the cable in the picture is a scart rgb cable.
yes that will work for my needs if any rgb signal is left inside the cdi that would do he trick.

if the eruo systems had rgb scart there is a good chance the usa system has a chip in it that outputs true rgb.

rf is no good.


any good place to get the cdi 220 schematic?

wow did not know this system had digital audio out!
