Hey guys :D

Huge gamer (literally) here.
I always wanted a CD-i as a kid, but my parents never bought me one since it was too expensive.
So I got stuck with my Mega Drive (Genesis) and SNES...

Now, 25 years old, I've finally bought myself a CD-i!
I still haven't recieved it, but it's on it's way.

It's a 470/00, and it cost me 30 euros, including shipping.

No games yet, but I plan to get a whole bunch, I just love the cheesy library of games that CD-i has to offer!

CD-i, here I come!

Yes, lots of cheese! :D

At least it's more affordable than originally, although games are less plentiful than 5 years ago through the various second hand channels unfortunately.

HEllo! i am new too

from california

just got my cousin's old 450 cd-i and found this forum while looking for some answers

maybe you guys can help, i've gotten alot of help already from searching the forums but i couldn't find this

I need a list of games that don't require the DV cartridge, as you know the 450 does have one, i just just found what a DV cartridge is when i tried to play the 7th guest…i was devastated.

also…the only cd-i controller i have is the Wired Controller with two buttons on the sides.. do i need a different controller to play most other games?

right now i have

alien gate
barinstein bears
tenis

those all work with out the DV cartridge and seems fine with the wired remote

all of the controllers and accessories are way expensive on ebay, and i have never seen cd-i gear at any trade or collectable shows

thanks!

Black Moon has all the Digital Video requirements for games listed...

That controller will work fine but a GT-i joypad is the best controller for CD-i by far, if you can find one!

Haha fair enough, just done the marathon catchup session to see roughly what's been happening on here haha.

And not much really, still training up to get into the stunt business, got a fire course, for a half-burn and film fighting course coming up soon, which should be awesome :D. Erm am taking up Wu-Shu soon, ontop of the martial art I already teach haha am also looking at a local rock climbing school and bar that just been helping out friends with media courses and another friend with her photography portfolio last weekend which was fun.

How are things in the world of you guys?

Hi all!

I'm new to the cd-i and these forums - so I thought I'd say hi!

I've been fascinated by games since a very early age. Growing up in South Africa I only had limited access to them however. We had Chinese famiclones and Sega Megadrives and that was about it.

I used to read all about the cdi in CVG as a kid and I always wanted one (not sure why tho!).

Now I'm older and living in the UK so I have access to a lot of the things I could only read about as a kid.

I currently own one of more of the following systems:
3DO, GBA, GameCube, NGCD, MVS Cab, NGPC, DS/DSi, Wii, PS2, PS3, DC, Saturn, Master System, SNES, N64, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, Atari Jaguar and a CD-i 450 :)

My CD-i collection is fairly small. Boxed CD-i 450, 3-button pad, DVC on the way and a handful of games: Hotel Mario, Burn: Cycle, Tetris, Kether, Surf City, Mad Dog McCree and Voyeur.

I'd like to get the Zelda games, The Apprentice and The 7th guest... and maybe others as I learn more.
