CDI 910 plus Digital Video Cartridge Problems.

I've had my cdi 910 since launch. The 910 is err was in good shape outside of the dead save battery and a sluggish front loading drive motor.

Anyhow, I picked up a Digital Video Cartridge off of ebay, and decided to install it. Booted up the CDI and everything appeared fine. Put in a game, the disc gets detected as normal, hit "play cdi" the system transitions to a blue screen flashes a couple of times and then crashes back to the cdi "desktop". This occurs with both regular non dv cartridge games and dv cartridge games. So nothing boots anymore.

So I unplug the cdi, uninstall the cartridge, put in a regular cdi game, disc wont read, and I get the "error" cdi message.

I reinstall and uninstall the cartridge several times and I keep getting the same results.

So basically I have the following problems.
1. With the digital video cartridge installed, the cdi system detects a game, but upon initial load transitions to a blue screen and crashes back to the cdi desktop.

2. Without the digital video cartridge installed, the cdi refuses to read any games whatsoever and displays "error" on the lcd screen.

I'm guessing the cdi had a heart attack out of pure excitement of the digital video cartridge finally being installed after 15 years and is dead and buried at this point.

However is this an occurance that somebody has heard of before and is there any possible workaround outside of the garbage can?

Thanks

are you sure the battery is fine again...? Ofcourse a lot can go wrong with a cd-i player (well, any console), I have no idea what else could have gone wrong. Maybe clearing the dust in the wind will fresh up some contacts ;)
