DVS VE-200 230V compatible?

Post by Erronous » Tue Jul 05, 2005 3:41 pm

Does anyone know if the DVS VE-200 CD-i player will work with 230V? It has a NTSC/PAL switch, but the back says it's for 120V only. I was hoping to use it without any large transformers...

As I suspected mine also says 120V on the back. I purchased this one along with the rest of McNo's stock so when I got it I just plugged it straight in presuming it would be UK compatible without giving it a second thought. It all worked okay with no problems at all, I guess Digital Video Systems made them compatible with the European power source and shipped them out here without changing the back plate.

Although you could just as easily have a US version of the player in your possession so be careful!! :D

The components on the PCB are all rated for 250V, so I guess I'll just go plug it in :).

I just changed the plug to an European plug and the machine is running fine on 230V now.

Because it was made for kiosk systems? Pull data from a server via the modem and then give a printout to the user.
