Hi I'm from Australia and our mains power runs at 240 V. I have just bought a 370 cd-i from the US and the power brick says input 120 V 50/60 Hz, however I think the EU adapters are switchable voltage.
Are the US adapters switchable voltage or should I use a step-down transformer just to be safe? Can anyone post a picture of the EU brick to compare?
I'd rather ask as I am afraid to experiment, but also don't want to have to buy a transformer if I don't have to. Dont wanna destroy my cd-i when I haven't used it yet!
Many thanks in advance.
US 370 AC voltage 240 volts compatible?
I also bought a cd-i 370 portable recently from eBay. It was from Germany.
The sticker on the back side of the power brick says:
MODEL NO.: 22ER9159/00
INPUT: 100-240V, 50/60Hz, 45W
OUTPUT: 21V 1.7A
So, to answer your question, a power brick from the EU automatically adapts to the current that goes in.

I've both the EU and the US adapter, the typeshields are different.RIDER wrote:Hi I'm from Australia and our mains power runs at 240 V. I have just bought a 370 cd-i from the US and the power brick says input 120 V 50/60 Hz, however I think the EU adapters are switchable voltage.

However I opened both adapters and compared the electronics, they are identical.
You don't need a transformer, they are exchangable, regardless whats written on the typeshield.
Both do work between 100-240 VAC 50/60 Hz.
