Cd-i 550 motor issue

Im having an odd issue that maybe someone can help me with. My disc motor stopped working in my 550. So, looked online, bought a new one, popped it in anddd spins a quarter revolution then stops. Im not sure where to go from here seeing that it gets power and trys to spin (the laser moves/works fine). Any help?

Probably something is jamming. Or the lid switch isn't working right.
Some early CDM-12.1 drives have a problem with the motor jamming. I don't know if the CDI players were effected, but The Atari Jaguar CD was (it was made by Philips btw).
Search google for JaguarCD repair guides and you will find guides on fixing jamming problems with CDM-12.1 mechanisms.
