Wierd - CDI-220 only opens the tray one time

Hi,
I picked this cdi-220 and it works fine, BUT:
-The tray only pops out just one time and that is, after the cdi is powered on, no matter how many times i push the open button.
Is this a common problem?
Can anyone point me to a service manual? I suspect the 0372 chips at the mobo, but dont have a lot of cash to mess around.
