Question about the cdi 470

Post by Nutty02 » Sun Nov 13, 2011 12:40 am

Hello everyone !

I have a cdi 470 but unfortunately, the battery of my timekeeper seems to be dead. I know there is a way to repair it but every time i tried to repair or mod a game system, i broke it... :? So i'm not going to try on the cdi.

So here is my question : Is it risky to let my cdi turned on to keep my saves ?

As long as the cd drive isn't spinning and nothing overheats, there should be little extra wear from keeping your player turned on (AFAIK there are no moving parts other then the cd drive).

If you have a so-called "CD-i null modem" cable you could backup and restore your saves using the CD-Interlink disc (GUI) or cdilink (command line, somewhat tricky).

CD-Interlink is available for download from ICDIA here, cdilink is here.
