Can PHYSICAL CD-I DISCS be used with the Emulator?

Post by Odkin » Sat Oct 29, 2011 8:21 am

I recently picked up a stack on CD-I discs in a thrift store. I've downlowded and configured the emulator, and found a couple of disc images. I'm not having any trouble getting images to load and run perfectly.

But I haven't been able to run games directly from the physical discs I bought. I guess I could go through the trouble of installing software to create image copies from the discs, but it seems like it shouldn't be necessary.

Am I missing some configuration or command? Or is this ability not supported? I imagine people interested in the emulator are CD-I enthusiasts and likely collectors of original discs. It seems like this would be a pretty desirable feature.

I'm running WinVista64. I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. I really did try to search for it and found nothing.

You need to make disc images; the emulator will not directly read from the CD drive of your PC.

There are various "backup" guides that tell how to do so; esp. CD-i Ready discs can be a bit of a problem.
