Cute Invaders

Post by Devin » Sun Feb 05, 2006 9:23 pm

Has anybody given serious play time of the Space Invaders clone hidden on The Apprentice that i've dubbed Cute Invaders due to the damned overall cuteness of proceedings? Come to think of it has any game developer ever made Space Invaders so loveable! Aside from a few minor bugs which includes sticking graphics of your shooter the eyes in the sky UFO and the occasional control issue the game plays as well as the original. So far i've covered 5 levels with what appears to be cute little Rabbits joining in the action whilst the earlier levels feature chicks (of the feathered variety!), Teddies and what I can only guess are ghosts or maybe a Panda... really can't tell!

I only tried once to check if the cheat was working! I'll give it a next try this weekend, the Golden Oldies version was a lot of fun, as were the other games that were on them. Sweet & Colourful! Especially that Arkanoid clone is a feast to play with. How is that one called.... blockbuster?

I'm actually getting quite good at this game now!

Yeah, I loved that Blockbuster which was probably the most complete game in the series. I mean they all play fine but lack that shine we expected from The Vision Factory, not that we were really supposed to know it was an SPC product! Guardian is very nice as well with amazing particle effects. Wish the SPC guys had more time to thrash the concepts out and develop each game into a more complete product.
