Faint Childhood memory

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

Faint Childhood memory

Post by heyBen » Tue Dec 12, 2006 9:18 pm

I am in college now, but when I was a wee lad, I remember my dad buying us (me and my sister) a video game system. I would play this sesame street game that I remember had video clips and maybe sing-a-longs. Other than that, I don't remember a thing about it. My dad cant even remember buying us this system, much less what it was called or the game.

Anyways, I thought it might be the CDi but I have no clue. So anyone who has an idea, Id love to hear from you.

Thanks,
heyBen

Yes that sounds like a CD-i player as there is a Seasame Street game available.

The sesamestreet games have quite a lot of mini-games, I don't remember any sing-a-longs (like karaoke?) but there were several clips showing them, although this was no full screen video, like you have with the original sesamestreet series. This was your typical Philips Sidewalk animations, great on its own but lacking the quality of Digital Video.

Both USA only titles, IIRC

I went to our storage lot and found the system!!! It is in fact the CDi, and it still turns on! But, I can't find the game. Has anyone posted ISO's of the game? or are the emu/roms for this system and game? Would love to recapture the memory.

Since the games are under copyright and we respect that, we do not offer or allow any links to ISO files.

However, I found at some obvious places these things are that many of them are corrupt and cause a lot of frustration. The easy way is buying a few second hand copies at ebay or marktplaats.
