Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Create the ultimate CD-i Mod

Post by Devin » Tue Nov 28, 2006 9:12 pm

After a recent spat of 360 Case Mods my favourite being this Gears of War makeover! Really tempted to do something with an old CD-i player. I'm aware of that one with all the cool blue neon lights but is it possible to do a single game tribute for CD-i? It would have to be simplistic and immediately striking as game 'X' on CD-i. Come to think of it Burn:Cycle would be the perfect donor game. Now just the small problem of ripping apart the crap black exterior and making it into something cool. Suggestions...

Burn:Cycle would be the only 'cool' game to use this for, I guess. Maybe Atlantis, or the 7th Guest. But you certainly want a Philips exclusive....

try a 3D pic of this:

The 'Biohazard' sign is a must but I'd combine it with the cool artwork from my Limited Edition of Burn:Cycle...

I lack the image skills to recreate it into BMP form however!

Perhaps an Apprentice Mod would work? Using a silhouette from one of those Nudality cheats perhaps

That's a thought!

Nice image though! What CD-i player can be used as a donor? The 200 series is too big. Maybe I could rewire a 400 series player and put it in a cooler modified shell!

I was thinking about ripping the internal parts out then placing them within an entirely different shell. A JVC X'EYE for example!

Very nice idea! When I read it, I immediately thought about letting someone airbrush the Burn:Cycle cover on the case (top side) of my CD-i 470. :D Problem is, it would cost about 100 to 200 Euro if done by a professional. :(
