CDi movies

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

CDi movies

Post by thomas » Wed Mar 01, 2006 10:26 am

I only accept them as CDi movies with the CDi logo on the spine. Many VCDs have the Video CD logo on the spine, I don't count those. Is this correct?

Check out my CDi stuff and see the two CDi movies, Flashdance and Black Rain on the left. I have many VCD movies which I do not list under CDi section.

that's a large collection, tom! I've seen this game called 'Kiss'... what is it like? can you make a better picture from the back side of the case?

Before the videocd (VCD) format really hit the grounds Philips published some movies from Paramount and MGM in their own format 'Digital Video on CD-i', all these titles have the cd-i logo on the spine. When the VCD format became a standard, it was all VideoCD. The Full Motion Video development basis was everything but stable, and different versions were used.

Thanks for the answer,
Is there a complete listing on movies with CDi written on the spine? In total?

As for Kiss, not really a game, I think, but it never even seen the inside of my CDi yet. Picture of the back's no problem anyway. I'll dig it out for you.

Kiss Philips Media 3T Productions 1993 8110047

" A host of other new additions includes 4 videos of proposed but unreleased CD-i games with the likes of Dead End, Kiss, Down in the Dumps and New Day. "

So it could be a regional title, the picture looks like it was released. I don't recall ever seeing it.

I knew I heard of it before, it was indeed among a list of unreleased video's. Perhaps a french release just like the teleportaschroumph

I've seen Kiss on ebay a few times, certainly not an unreleased title!

So 'Kiss' is quite rare then? I've never seen it on ebay.

I've never seen it anywhere. So to me, it's pretty rare! Still the concept of the 'game' doesn't sound appealing, does it :) ?

Has this anything to do with Girl's club?
